How To Get Sh*t Done, Get Organized & Be More Productive

HOLY GUACAMOLE we’re already well into 2021 😳🥑


Are you ready for it!?


Or are you still lagging on making those new year’s resolutions?



We all know that when you’ve got your sh*t together you accomplish more as well as have more free time to do things that are meaningful to you, plus you live a happier, healthier life.


No wonder we WANT to have our sh*t together!!!


Alas, often times life just gets in the way, and our organization falls to the wayside and overwhelm sets in.


That’s no way to start 2021, AMIRIIIGHT!?


If you’re still reading this, it’s likely because you’re feeling a bit unprepared for this year, and you’re not the only one, either...


But don’t sweat it! I’m here to help you get back on your high unicorn and ride that baby into 2021 like... 🦄



I know you! You’re a goal getter, so you’ve actually really tried to get your sh*t together! 💩🤷‍♀️


But sometimes, you end up working harder, rather than more efficiently and you’re so close to it that you just don’t see it. In the end you feel exhausted and become burnt out -- and still like you’ve not gotten ANYTHING done.


Sound familiar?


When that happens, your personal playtime and fun life things get pushed to the back burner, and before you know it, your life begins to pass you by without you actually fully living it.


We just can’t have that!


So, what are you doing wrong?


The culprit is likely mismanaged time and/or to-do lists that are impractically long. 😮


It’s time to knock those shenanigans out of here with my simple, quick, easy to implement plan that really works!


Here are 5 simple steps to eliminate stress and give you more time to do the things you love:




#1 Make lists


A list is great because it allows you to see everything in one place, rather than just keeping those thoughts floating around in your head with all your other genius 🧐


Plus, you get a sense of accomplishment when you cross things off, which gives you the energy and encouragement to keep crushing it!


Perhaps you already make lists, but your productivity still doesn't feel like Boss Babe status quite yet. Follow these Do’s & Don’ts to make sure you get the most out of that list baby!


DON’T ❌

  • Have so many lists you can’t keep track of them

  • Overload your list so you panic instantly upon looking at it

  • Hang on to things that have been on your list for a REALLY long time - if they’re THAT important, DO them, if not, ditch em!


DO

  • Make your list at night for the following day so when you wake up you’re ready to dive in and rock your day

  • Prioritize your list with the top 3 that must happen that day at the top

  • Revisit your list and update it frequently

I personally have one master list of all the things and I pull from there to make my daily list. This helps me stay organized and super on top of my ish!



#2 Work in sections


Set a timer for 20-25 minutes and do only one task during that time. ⏰


Work in sections like this, taking breaks in between for dance parties and stretch breaks.


The point is to completely step away from what you’re doing and give yourself a rest so you can reset and come back for the next sweet session of handling your business!



#3 Eliminate distractions


This may seem obvious, but social media algorithms are designed to suck you in - and they’re darn good at it!


I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hopped online to look for or do something specific, and 45 minutes later realize I’ve just gone down the rabbit hole of lip liner techniques - and I DON’T EVEN WEAR LIP LINER!


So, don’t let socials suck your time! Silence them when you’re in work mode. Turn your phone off. And don’t check your texts or emails. 🤫


Instead, schedule time for these things and watch yourself be less distracted and much more on top of your life!



#4 Plan ahead


When you make your list the night before, you don’t have to spend your prime bandwidth when you’re the most sharp (early morning after you’ve woken up) figuring out what you’re going to do.


Instead, you’ve planned the night before and you’re ready to hop right in, wasting no time at all!


When you plan your workflow, you set yourself up for success and less stress! ☮️


And don’t forget about movement! Plan your movement breaks (even if they’re just for 5 minutes) and stick to it!


This will help to shake things up, get you unstuck, and keep your energy flowin’ throughout the day.


This will ensure that you’re more productive, energetic and feel happier throughout your busy day.



#5 SCHEDULE IT


Think of it like this: if it’s not in the calendar it doesn’t exist.


There may be some people who are great at keeping mental tabs of all the things on their plate, but since you’re reading this, I’m guessing that’s not you...


And that’s OK! I was definitely there once too!


Scheduling literally changed everything for me. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Do a quick brain dump and write down everything you need to do.

  2. Prioritize everything and reorder your list based on that. Put your top 3 at the front of the list.

  3. Grab your calendar and fill in your list items where you’re have availability.

  4. Once it’s scheduled, STICK TO IT! YOU GOT THIS! I believe in you 🌈
